CORUS ENTERTAINMENT Toronto Corus Quay, Corus Entertainment’s Toronto facility, recently consolidated its operations under one roof. And in the very defi nition of mixing business with pleasure, a giant tube slide was included under that roof in the aim of fostering a highly cohesive and unifi ed culture that Corus hopes will harness and leverage individual and collective capabilities. The LEED Gold Certifi ed building expresses innovation and collaboration through a nifty design scheme showcasing an open-air environment. 4 HORIZON MEDIA New York Last year, Horizon Media needed to expand to meet the needs of its quickly growing team. Now in an old printing building with plenty of light and high ceilings, Horizon found the modern space a good match for its innovative business. The glass walls and sweeping staircases allow visi-tors to get an immediate sense of the working environment they’ve entered while also encouraging circulation throughout the space. The open-seating area multitasks as a meeting space and a quiet place to get that much-needed afternoon coffee. 49 SPRING 2012
