She met her American future husband in Europe and immigrated to the United States. She entered poli-tics at a grassroots level and brought her successful business experience first to the Indiana Senate and then to the halls of Congress, where she currently serves as the represen-tative for Indiana’s 5th congres-sional district. She recently shared her unique story and perspective with AMAC. AMAC How much of your life was spent under this socialist regime? AMAC Where were you born? Rep. Spartz I was born in 1978 and the Soviet Union fell apart in 1991 when I was thirteen. I very much remember a lot of propaganda from the Soviet Union and life under a socialist system. The socialistic system is not fun.
